Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 129 MUNROE, Gerald Eston WWII Gerald was born in 1925 and was the son of Coleman Munroe and Elizabeth Snow of Whitehead, Nova Scotia. Gerald served during the Second World War. He married Elizabeth Mary Casey and they raised 2 children. Gerald died January 27, 1997 in the VG Hospital, in Halifax. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion MURPHY, Patrick Joseph WWII Patrick was born on February 5, 1923 in Kline Heights, Halifax, NS. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve in 1941 in Halifax, NS at the age of eighteen. He completed a total of 717 days of Overseas Service, aboard various ships: HMCS Sydney, HMCS Stadacona, HMCS Shelburne, HMCS Cornwallis, with the majority of sea time being served on the Corvette, HMCS Galt and HMCS Glace Bay. On January 10, 1946, he married Victoria Oickle, settling in Shelburne. Patrick passed away on June 7, 2004 in Shelburne, NS. He is buried at Sandy Point Cemetery, Shelburne. Submitted independently MYATT, Sheila Marie ARMY RESERVE Sheila was born in Charlos Cove, Nova Scotia on March 29, 1943. She is a daughter of the late Johnny & Lavina (Richard). Sheila joined the Army Reserves in 1990 until 1995. She has always been quite active with the Royal Canadian Legion both in Charlos Cove and the Army Navy Air Force Club in Halifax. Where ever she happens to be, she loves to entertain her guests by singing and playing her guitar. She resides in Halifax and tries to come down as often as she can to her old homestead in Charlos Cove. We will remember and respect her for her years of service.
