He resided in Portland, Maine when the War was underway. He was a carpenter by trade. John was a single man and agreed to go overseas in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force. He signed in Quebec on the February 18, 1918 at 24 years of age. He will be remembered and respected for his service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion PELRINE, Joseph WWI Joseph was born in Larry’s River on July 19, 1899 but was living in Truro, NS at the time he signed up for Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force. His next of kin was his father Thomas Pelrine. Joseph was a lumberjack by trade. At the time of recruitment he signed up to be part of the Forestry Group in Great Britain and Germany during the War on April 14, 1917. He was single at that time and 18 years of age. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. He was married at the time he enlisted in the Army to Laura Pelrine. He was drafted and did he training in Aldershot, NS on June 10, 1918. He was 23 years old.
