He enrolled for three tours of duty in the Royal Canadian Navy during his distinguished career [November 8, 1943 - May 6, 1944; May 30, 1944 - March 8, 1946; and December 1, 1948 - September 7, 1971]. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-1945; the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration with clasp. Reginald retired from the Navy in September 1971 and passed away in March 1987. He was a member of Branch # 027. Submitted by the Vimy Branch # 027 of The Royal Canadian Legion PRENDERGAST, Dennis William WWII Dennis was born on April 8, 1923 in Port Morien, Nova Scotia. He was the son of George and Alice (Burke) Prendergast. He was a corporal in the Royal Canadian Signal Corps from January 5, 1942 to June 29, 1946, and served in Newfoundland. He was married to Shirley Chafe from Newfoundland. He passed away on December 30, 1990 at the age of 67. Submitted by the Port Morien Branch # 055 of The Royal Canadian Legion PRENDERGAST, George J. WWII George was born on July 9, 1919 in Port Morien, Nova Scotia. He was the son of George and Alice (Burke) Prendergast. He served in Holland from 1938 to 1946 as a corporal with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He was married to Janet Tilley from Stellarton, NS. He passed away on August 3, 1995.
