He served in the Army with the 1st A.A Searchlight Battery. He served in Canada, England and Northwestern Europe. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-1945 War Medal and the 1939-1945 Star. Stanley was a member of the Hants Co. Legion Branch # 009 for 46 years before he passed away in 1996. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion SAUNDERS, James Leroy PEACETIME James was born in 1930 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. He served with the Navy on board the Bonaventure and the Magnificent during Peacetime. He saw action in the Mediterranean and in the Caribbean. He has been a member of the Peace Legion Branch # 060 for the past 56 years. Submitted independently SHAUGHNESSY, Donald Vernon WWII Donald was born in Guelph, Ontario on July 7, 1925. He served in the Air Force with the Essex Scottish Regiment during World War II. He was a member of the Legion Branch # 234 for more than 30 years. Even though he lived in Ontario, his family is in Nova Scotia. He was proud to be a part of Canada’s Freedom and for others too. Donald passed away on Sept 12, 2010. Submitted independently
