Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 175 SIGUT, Charles Richard WWII Charles was born in 1925 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He attended Sydney Academy. He helped the war effort by working at Sydney Steel before joining the Navy. He joined the Royal Canadian Volunteer Navy in 1942 at age seventeen. He served aboard the HMCS Lanark in the Atlantic until 1945, when he was honourably discharged. After the war, he attended St. F.X. University and Dalhousie Law School, graduating with an LLB in 1952. He was City Solicitor in Moncton, NB and City Clerk at Canso, NS, and practiced law in Sydney. He was married to Rose Adams and is survived by three children. Charles passed away in 1990. Submitted independently SIMPSON, Wylie Logan WWII Wylie served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Normandy, France during the Second World War. He was shot in the arm and a grenade also hit him. This photo was taken while he was returning on the hospital ship to Halifax, NS in September 1944. He was 22 years old at the time. Wylie passed away in April 2004. Submitted independently SMITH, Charles E. WWII Charles was born on November 27, 1920 in Wentworth, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He served with the Canadian Irish Regiment.
