He was a member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regiment. After the war, he worked in No. 20 and No. 24 collieries. He was married to Dorothy Breton Caines from Donkin, NS. Aubrey passed away on April 6, 1984. Submitted by the Port Morien Branch # 055 of The Royal Canadian Legion SPENCER, Eldon WWII Eldon was born on September 29, 1915, the son of William “Willie Y” and Marion “Louise” (Peters) Spencer. He was a sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers during World War II. He married Elvira MacLean of Dominion, NS. Eldon passed away in 1961 as the result of a tragic accident, falling into an open shaft at Guy’s Store in Glace Bay, NS. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army, 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment in 1941. He served in Canada, United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
