He was the son of Henry and Julia (Barnstable) Wadden. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Army during WWII. He was a member of Branch #055, The Royal Canadian Legion. Basil passed away on July 7, 1973, and is buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Black Brook, Port Morien. Submitted by the Port Morien Branch # 055 of The Royal Canadian Legion WADDEN, Clarence Joseph WWII Clarence was born on July 24, 1916 in Port Morien, Nova Scotia, the son of Walter and Agnes (Wilson) Wadden. He served overseas in Italy from 1942 to 1945. He received the Italy Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He married Veronica Byrne. Clarence passed away in May 1990, and is buried in Markham, Ontario. Submitted by the Port Morien Branch # 055 of The Royal Canadian Legion WADDEN, Crawford Donald WWII Crawford was born on January 20, 1921 to Thomas and Mamie (Nicholson) Wadden. He served as a coxswain in the RCNVR on the GRTE vessels in Halifax and Sydney. He enlisted in February 1942 and was discharged in December 1945. In July 1950, he re-enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and became a sergeant in the Air Force Police and the RCAF Marine Division, retiring in November 1958. In the RCAF, he served in Comox, BC, and Goose Bay, Labrador. He was awarded the Canadian Decoration. Crawford passed away in May 1963 in Courtney, BC.
