Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 203 WADDEN, Thomas Harold WWII Harold was born on March 3, 1919, the son of Thomas and Philomena (Kavanaugh) Wadden. He enlisted in the 9th S/L Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery in 1940. He then transferred to the coastal battery of Royal Canadian Army in Newfoundland. He volunteered for paratrooper and was dispatched to Shilo, Manitoba for training. Harold requested to go overseas and was posted with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in Northwest Europe and the United Kingdom. Overseas for 17 months, he attained the rank of sergeant and took discharge in 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 055, Port Morien. He married Anna Murrant. Thomas passed away on August 2, 1984, and is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Morien. He fought from 1940-1945 in Italy and Northwest Europe. He was a Life Member with 40 years Legion Membership at the time of his death in 1994. Submitted by the Kings Branch # 006 of The Royal Canadian Legion WEAGLE, Frank WWI Frank was born on October 16, 1893 in Middle-Wood, Nova Scotia. He served in the Army during World War I with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in England. Frank passed away on July 23, 1975. Submitted independently
