Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 19 AVERY, Paul Dominic Joseph WWII Paul was born in Larry’s River on June 17, 1917 to the late Abraham and Martha Avery. He married Edith Leahey and they resided in B.C. and raised 2 children. Paul joined the Canadian Army and went overseas during World War II. He died November 7, 2000 at the age of 83. He will always be remembered and respected for his years of service. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aircraft electrician from 1942 to 1945. He served in Halifax, Yarmouth, Dartmouth and Iceland. He received the 1939-1945 War Medal, Defence Medal and the CVSM & Clasp. Bob was a Legion member for over 55 years before he passed away on December 31st 2011 at the age of 93. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion BALCOM, Malcolm Sr. C. WWII Mac was born on February 5, 1917 at Kingston, Nova Scotia. He joined the Canadian Army in 1943 and served in Canada, the UK and Europe. He returned home in 1945, farmed for 20 years in Melvern Square and moved to Middleton where he resided until his death in 1997. He was a Past President of Middleton Branch # 001.
