He served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers at the outset of the Second World War and ended service in 1950 as a member of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He was a member of the Hants Co. He served in the Air Force with the Princess Louise Fusiliers during the Second World War. His service took him to Egypt, Palestine and Italy. Colin received the 1939-1945 Defence Medal, 1939-1945 War Medal (Victory Medal) and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of the Hants Co. Legion Branch # 009 for 37 years before he passed away in 2015. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 109 of The Royal Canadian Legion BISHOP, Donald Clifford WWII Donald was born in 1924 in Somerset, Kings County, Nova Scotia. He joined the RCAF air gunner on November 25, 1942 at 18 years of age. He went to the #9 Bombing and Gunnery school in Mont-Joli, Quebec. He served overseas on the Queen Elizabeth in September 1943. He was also attached to RAF Comber Command and was stationed at 10 Squadron in Melbourne, England. He flew 29 trips on Halifax Bombers (air gunner) and was discharged on September 26, 1945 as a Flying Officer. He received the 1939-1945 Star, Air crew Europe Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal of Great Britain, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and Bomber Command Bar, War Medal 1939-1945, CD and Bar and the French Legion of Honour. He joined the Militia- Nova Scotia Highlanders and served for 28 years in Truro and Halifax as a Personal Selection Officer and retired as Major. Donald has been a member of the F.E.
