Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 37 BOYD, Leslie WWII Leslie was born in 1922 in Windsor Forks, Nova Scotia. He served in the Army with the 1st Field Regiment during the Second World War. He served in England, France, Germany and Holland. He received the 19391945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, CVSM with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. He was a Life Member of the Legion. Leslie passed away in 2013. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion BREED, Perley WWII Perley was born in the USA on November 1, 1924. He joined the R.C.N.V.R. in 1943 as a Signalman and served on the Atlantic and in the English Channel, taking part in the D-Day Landings. He returned to Canada in 1945 and passed away on November 1, 1987. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion BROWN, Alpheus Franklyn WWII Alpheus was born at Upper Port La Tour, Nova Scotia on February 2, 1922. He enlisted at Halifax, N.S. in 1940 with the Princess Louise Fusiliers and served overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. He served in England and France and was taken prisoner at the Falaise Gap in 1944. He was later released by the Free French Underground.
