Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 3 Project Chairman / Command President’s Message I find myself in a bit of an unusual situation this year as I write my Chairman’s message for this, the 11th edition of this Veterans’ Service Recognition Book (VSRB) series, for this year, I am also in the position of Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command President and therefore will combine my President’s message with my Chairman’s message. As both project Chairman and NS/NUC President, and on behalf of the entire membership of Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion, it is an honour and a privilege to present the 2015 edition of our VSRB series. All of the books of this series are produced in an effort to honour, acknowledge and remember the contributions made by so many brave Canadians who have served, not only in times of war, but also during many peacekeeping and peacemaking missions. We also recognize and support those men and women who continue the proud tradition of service to Canada throughout the world in the Canadian Forces and the RCMP. As you may recall, in last year’s edition we presented some longer articles featuring historic battles of WWI. In this edition, we would like to present a few longer stories of our Veterans featuring their wartime contributions and experiences, stories which I felt could not be presented in the typical short format. I hope you enjoy them! As always, I offer my thanks to the Legion branches and members of the general public who continue to support these publications by contributing biographies and photos. I would also like to thank the many businesses, groups and individuals who generously support these publications through advertising and through personal donations. Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command extend our sincere thanks to Fenety Marketing Services for their continued support of The R.C.L. through the production of these books and together, we look forward to issuing our 12th edition of the VSRB in the fall of 2016. In Comradeship, Stephen Wessel President, Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command The Royal Canadian Legion, and Project Chairman
