Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 49 CASHIN, Jude Mederic WWII Jude was born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia on November 11, 1928. He was with the Canadian Merchant Navy and he drowned on the ship named “Good Luck” on September 3, 1947. Their job involved coastal delivery (Maritimes). Jude is buried in Porte a Petri, Guadeloupe, French West Indies. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion CASHIN, Leonard Lawrence WWII Leonard was born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia in 1926 to the late Amos and Beatrice (Smith) Cashin. Leonard was a true man of the ocean. He served proudly as a Merchant Marine during the Second World War, in Canada, Newfoundland and the Caribbean, followed by multiple years of service with Imperial Oil and National Gypsum. After his retirement, Leonard spent many hours fishing, boating and looking out towards the water at the beautiful view from their house. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Edith (Richard), one son and three daughters. Leonard will always be remembered and respected for his years of service. He was a member of Torbay Legion for many years. Leonard passed away on February 9, 2012. Submitted the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion CASSELMAN, Carl J. KOREA Carl was born in 1925 in Williamsburg, Ontario. He served in Korea with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Korean War. He received the Korea Medal and the UNSM (Korea).
