Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 51 CHAPMAN, Allison WWII Allison was born in 1921 in Amherst, Nova Scotia. He served in the Army with the North Novas Provincial Core Army as an Airforce military Police Captain during World War II. He served in Scotland, the South Shore of England, France, Germany and the liberation of Holland on June 6, 1941. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, France and Germany Star, Holland Liberation Medal and the War Medal. He lives on the Veteran’s Wing of the High Crest Nursing Home in Springhill, NS and is a member of the Amherst Legion branch # 010. Submitted by the Peace Branch # 060 of The Royal Canadian Legion CHURCH, Lewis H. WWII & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Lewis was born in 1925 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery with the 14th Field Division in Canada, England and Continental Europe. He received the CVSM with Clasp, 1939-1945 War Medal, 1939-1945 Star and the France and Germany Star. Lewis was a member of the Hants Co. Legion Branch # 009 for 50 years before he passed away in 2007. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion CLARKE, Cecil WWII Cecil was born on March 1, 1918. He enlisted with the Merchant Marines in January of 1940. He served in England, the Middle East, West Africa, South Africa, Egypt, Syria and Port Maricious. Cecil joined the Royal Canadian Navy on August 3rd, 1942. He served in Sydney, Halifax, Newfoundland, Liverpool, Great Yarmouth, Buckson and Belgium. He was discharged on August 24th, 1945.
