Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 67 DAWSON, Murray A. PEACETIME Murray was born in 1947 in Wheatley, Ontario and currently lives in Truro, Nova Scotia. Four days after turning 17, he joined the Army at Woolsley Barracks in London Ontario, Service #SA129728. He was sent to Kingston Ontario for Basic Training with Signals and took Sigs Elect as trades training. After a 5 year posting at 3Sigs in Gagetown he spent 2 years in Borden and re-mustered to RCEME as an Electro-Mechanical Technician and was posted to Valcartier, Quebec. Corporal Dawson retired from the RBC in Valcartier in the fall of 1975. Murray is currently a proud Life Member of Colchester Branch 26 in Truro and has served 2 years as Branch President. Submitted independently DEARMAN, Clyde John WWII Clyde was born on February 2, 1914 in Woodville, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He served the RCAC with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in the United Kingdom, Italy and Western Europe. Clyde passed away on December 21, 1969 in Waverley, NS. Submitted by Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion DECOSTE, Wilbert Joseph PEACETIME Wilbert was born in 1941 in Port Felix, Nova Scotia. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery Militia as a Gunner while based in Halifax. He joined the Regular Force and served with Airborne - B Company, 2nd BTN of the Royal Canadian Regiment stationed at Wolsey Barracks in London, ON. Wilbert still resides in Port Felix, N.S. and his hobby is singing and playing guitar. He has entertained veterans over the years and they have enjoyed his music.
