Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 69 DEVINE, Emmons Ephraim WWII Emmons was born in 1918 in Woods Harbour, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. He served in Canada from 1940 to 1946 in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Emmons was a member of the Hants Co. Legion Branch # 009 for 25 years before he passed away in 2010. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion DODDS, Colin MacKenzie RCMP Colin was born on May 27, 1940 in Hamilton, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Toronto, Ontario on June 4, 1959 and was posted to “Depot Division” Regina, Saskatchewan for recruit training. Following recruit training, he was transferred to the “H Division” in Nova Scotia in April 1960 and served in seven different communities until his retirement on August 3, 1987 with the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the R.C.M.P. Long Service Medal with Bronze Clasp and the Province of Nova Scotia 25 years Police Service Medal. He is a member of the Truro Legion Branch # 026 and of the RCMP Veteran’s Association, Nova Scotia Division. Submitted by the Colchester Truro Branch # 026 of The Royal Canadian Legion DOIRON, Ernest J. WWII & KOREA Ernie was born in Charlos Cove, Nova Scotia in 1918; he was the son of the late Frank and Flossie Doiron. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War and the Korean War. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the Department of National Defence in Ottawa until retirement. He is survived by wife Joyce and four daughters. Ernie passed away on April 23, 1993 in Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 75. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service.
