Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 73 DORT, Leo Harold WWI Leo was born in Cole Harbour, Guys. Co., Nova Scotia on June 11, 1896 to David and Lilia Dort. He joined the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), 42nd Battalion. Leo was killed in action on July 4, 1917. He is buried in Barlin Communal Cemetery, France. He has always been remembered by his family on Remembrance Day. He will be remembered and respected for his ultimate sacrifice by his comrades. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion DORT, Patrick Joseph “Pat” PEACETIME Pat was born in Cole Harbour, Guy. Co., Nova Scotia on March 17, 1936. He was a son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Murray) Dort. He served five years with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of the Coast Guard for 14 years and he retired due to ill health. Pat died on May 21, 2000. He was a member of Torbay Legion up until his death. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion DOYLE, Roger Bruce SPECIAL DUTY AREA Born in Truro, he was the son of Leonard Doyle of Debert and the Late Marjorie Gonzales. Bruce served in the Royal Canadian Regiment, mainly in Gagetown, where he retired as Corporal, after serving two tours in Bosnia and one in Cambodia and Cyprus. Following active duty, he served with the Nova Scotia Highlanders (North) Reserve unit in Truro. He worked as a caretaker for the Westchester Fire Department and was a member of the Peace Legion Branch # 060. Submitted by the Peace Branch # 060 of The Royal Canadian Legion
