Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 83 FITZGERALD, Gerald Joseph WWII Gerald was born in Queensport, Nova Scotia on July 10, 1923 to James & Elizabeth (MacIsaac) Fitzgerald. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and was with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. He served in Belgium, Holland and Germany. Gerald married Mildred (Millie Flavin) and they raised 7 children with one deceased. Gerald is a renowned fiddle player and as a younger man, he was in a band, known as the Eastern Swingters and played for many dances all over the County. He is a long standing member of Guysborough Legion Branch # 81 and presently has been a member for 58 years. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. George was a member of Bear River Branch #022, The Royal Canadian Legion for forty-eight years before he passed away on November 6, 1995. Submitted by the Bear River Branch # 022 of The Royal Canadian Legion FOSTER, Robert Gorden PEACETIME Robert was born in 1929 in Mount Elgin, Oxford County, Ontario. He joined the RCAF as a Master Warrant Officer in maintenance and weapon tech during Peacetime. He served in Manitoba, Camp Borden, Ont., #2 Wing, France, Quebec and Greenwood, Nova Scotia. He received the Canadian Force Long Service with 2 Rosettes and Special Service Medal (NATO). He was a member of the Kingston Legion Branch # 098. Robert passed away in 2015.
