Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 85 FOUGERE, Charles Simon WWI Charles was born in Larry’s River on November 21, 1892. His mother was Mrs. Anne Fougere and they lived in Lundy, N.S. He volunteered to join the Canadian Army and was with 6 M.D. 1st Depot Battalion Nova Scotia Regiment. He received his training in Aldershot, NS and passed his medical examination. He was an unmarried 25 year old farmer when he was drafted. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion FOUGERE, Leo WWI Leo was born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia on August 27, 1896 to James and Eunice Fougere. He was single and a fisherman by trade. He received his training in Aldershot, NS. He was with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 6 M.D. 1st Depot Battalion Nova Scotia Regiment and 17th Reserve Battalion. He was 21 years of age when he went off to war. Leo died in 1963 at 67 years of age. He will be remembered and respected for his service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion FRANCIS, Gerald E. KOREA Gerald was born in Annapolis Royal, and grew up and lived in Kentville, NS. He served as a gunner 3 R.C.H.A. during the Korean conflict. He was a Legion member at the time of his death in 2001.
