He was killed in action on June 8, 1944 in Caen, Normandy. Submitted by the Hants County Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion GALLEY, Clifford “Guy” WWII Guy was born in 1921 in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He served in Canada and Newfoundland with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Guy was a member of the Hants Co. Legion branch # 009 for 66 years before he passed away in 2012. Submitted by the Hants Co. Branch # 009 of The Royal Canadian Legion GEORGE, Joseph Harold WWI Joseph was born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia to William and Margaret (Pellerin) George. He was baptised at St. Joseph’s Port Felix Feb. 22, 1893. The date of birth given on Attestation papers is September 4, 1892 (1901 census gives a date of February 18, 1894). He served in the First World War. Joseph drowned in a boating accident September 12, 1915 in Sydney Harbour, NS. According to his military records he fell out of a canoe. His body was never recovered. His name appears on the Halifax Memorial in Port Pleasant Park. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service.
