Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 89 GIBSON, Lloyd Norman WWII Lloyd was born in November 1923 in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941, serving in Canada and the United Kingdom as Night Fighter Pilot. He was discharged in 1945 as a Flying Officer. After the war, he was employed as a pilot for Maritime Central Airways, Air St. Pierre, Eastern Provincial Airways, and Canadian Airlines, until his retirement in 1983. Lloyd passed away in March 2002. Submitted by the Lumsden Branch # 074 of The Royal Canadian Legion GILLES, William Alexander WWII William was born in 1916 and lived in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia. He served as a G.N.R. in the Second World War. William passed away on August 20, 1965. Submitted by the Cambrai Branch # 037 of The Royal Canadian Legion GILLIS, Neil A. WWII Neil was born in Judique North, Cape Breton on May 10, 1917. He volunteered for the Army in March of 1942 and served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment based in Windsor, N.S. He was assigned to various home security details within Nova Scotia until his discharge on February 26, 1946. Neil and his wife, Margaret, lived in Troy, 14 kilometers from his birth place for the last 37 years.
