Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 97 HINES, Harold Douglas WWII Harold was born in Central Argyle, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. He was blinded in World War II at the age of 20. Prior to the War, Harold earned a living by driving a delivery truck. He chose to enlist at age 19, trained in Aldershot and was soon sent overseas. Harold served in the Blackwatch Regiment and was a 50-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion. He returned to his community after the War, rehabilitated, married, raised two daughters, owned his own business, and lived a very productive life until his passing in March 2005. Submitted by the West Pubnico Branch # 066 of The Royal Canadian Legion HOOD, William KOREA William was born in 1932 in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He served in the Army with the 56 TPT, RCASC in Korea and Germany. William has been a member of the F.E. Butler Legion Branch # 044 for the past 31 years. Submitted independently HUNTER, Charles Eugene WWII Charles was born in 1920. He served the Royal Canadian Air Force in the United Kingdom and Europe. Charles passed away in 2001.
