Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 107 HARRIS, Edward Harlow WWI Edward enlisted in the 219th Bn in Mahone Bay in March 1916. Ed arrived in the UK on October 18, 1916 and joined the 85th Battalion in France on May 28, 1917. Edward took part in the attack on the Vienna Cottages outside of Passchendaele on October 30 1917. He suffered a serious shrapnel wound to his left leg and laid in a shell hole for three hours. The wound was serious and it was infected so he was invalided to the UK on December 10. He was discharged as ‘unfit’ in November, 1918. Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion HART, Avery J. WWII Avery was born in Lower Vaughans, Hants County, NS in 1919. He served the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp from 1939-1945 in England and the Netherlands. Avery passed away in 1985. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion HARTLIN, Harris H. WWII Harris was born in Jeddore, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army and served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, Combat serving overseas. He was in the Battle of the Scheldt River Estuary during World War II. Harris passed away in 2012.
