He served with the 23rd Field Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He passed away in 2005. Submitted by Port Royal Branch #021, The Royal Canadian Legion AUCOIN, George Francis WWII The late George Aucoin was the son of the late Sevrin and Marie Aucoin of Point Cross, NS. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 and served until 1946. He served with the Algonquin Regiment in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Holland. George was a active member of Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion, and was Past President. He lived in Cheticamp with his wife before moving to Halifax in the Northwood Manor, where he passed away on April 21, 2006. Submitted by Cheticamp Branch #032, The Royal Canadian Legion AULENBACK, Harold WWI Harold was born in Mahone Bay on 16 May, 1896, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Aulenback of Maitland Forks. He enlisted in the 25th Bn in Halifax in November, 1914, arriving in France in September, 1915. In February, 1916, he was posted to the Canadian Labour Corps, in England and in March he was attached to the Canadian Overseas Railway Construction Corps in France. In August he rejoined the 25th Bn and suffered shrapnel wounds to his back during the battle of Courcelette. He was evacuated to England returned to France with the 242nd Bn of the Canadian Forestry Corps in February, 1918. Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion
