He enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. He was killed in action in Italy in 1944. All served in some overseas theatre of war. Bernard was their fourth son. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery in February 1941 and went overseas in April 1942. He was a gunner, stationed in England. He came home from the war, but is now deceased. All served in some overseas theatre of war. Ernest was their third son. He was rejected by the Army in 1939, when he applied and so joined the Merchant Navy.
