He served the Royal Canadian Navy and the Merchant Navy on merchant ships and corvettes in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. He sailed out of Hantsport in 1943 on a tramp steamer, hauling wood pulp to the United States. His ship sunk in the English Channel in 1944. Originally, he joined the British Navy and later transferred to the Canadian Navy. He came back to Canada on a Canadian Navy Corvette in 1945. Jack had been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Lethbridge, Alberta before passing away in 1999. He enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Gunner in Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany during World War II. He was a prisoner of war for 1000 days in Poland. Jack was a member of the Hants Co. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Atlantic with the RCNVR on HMCS Trois Rivieres and HMCS Ethridge during World War II. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Atlantic Star, 1939-1945 War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. William was a member of the Hants Co.
