Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 193 POOLEY, Donald James Donald was born in Moncton, NB in 1955. He enlisted in the Navy and served onboard HMCS Ottawa, HMCS Protecteur, HMCS Saguenay, HMCS Margaree, HMCS Iroquois, and HMCS Montreal. He served in Canada, TFA, DDHI and in Bahrain as CPO2 Hull Technician from 1977 to 2009. He was awarded the CD, SWASM and SSM for his service. Donald has been a member of the Centennial Legion Branch 160 for sixteen years. He served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment, 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment from 1941 until he was wounded in Belgium in 1944. Pete was a Life Member of Kings Branch #006 of The Royal Canadian Legion in Kentville, NS, until he passed away on October 29, 1997. Submitted by Hants County Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion POWER, Ross B. WWII Ross was born in East Ship Harbour, NS in 1917. He volunteered for service in World War Two and was a member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He saw action in the invasion of Sicily, Italy, Holland, France and Germany. After his discharge from service at the end of the war, he worked and lived in the Halifax/Dartmouth area. He was a Life Member of Four Harbours Branch #120, The Royal Canadian Legion He retired to the Eastern Shore, Murphy’s Cove, where he enjoyed meeting people, telling stories and gardening.
