He was a Life Member and Past President of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion, with forty-seven years of service at the time of his death in 2004. He served with the West Novies in England, France and Italy from 1940 to 1946. He was a thirtyseven-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion at the time of his death in 1983.
