He served with the 13th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), and the 40th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force from March 1915 until being killed in action in June 1916 at only twenty-three years of age. He served the Royal Canadian Navy on several ships in several different countries. He was discharged with the rank of Leading Seaman. He was awarded the CD and bar, and the UN Medal. Volletort passed away on September 14, 1976.
