He passed away in 2005. Submitted by Four Harbour’s Branch #120, The Royal Canadian Legion BECK, Willis WWI Willis was born in Blockhouse and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Regiment on 1 November, 1915, in Halifax. While in France, on 15 December, 1916, it was discovered that Willis had lied about his age upon enlisting and that his true date of birth was 5 November 1898. He suffered shrapnel wounds to his right arm during the fighting around the Souchez River on 9 June 1917. He suffered a major concussion during the Battle of Passchendaele. In September, 1918, he was returned to England suffering from shell shock. He was discharge on 6 February, 1919, in Halifax. Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion BENJAMIN, William E. “Bill” WWII Bill was born in Aylesford, NS and lived his adult life in White Rock, NS.
