Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 215 STEPHENS, William “Skeeter” WWII & KOREA William was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1923. He enlisted in the Army and served with the RCA 51 Battery, 5th Reg. Artillery from 1942 to 1945 and with the 12 Reg. Ordnance Depot from 1946 to 1973. He served during World War II and the Korean War in Canada, England, North Africa, Japan, Holland, Germany and Korea and did a Peacekeeping tour in Egypt. He was awarded ten medals and three decorations from Holland, WWII Star 1939-1945, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 Volunteer Service Medal, UN Korea, CD Peacekeeping. His Holland decorations were given to him by the government of Holland during ceremonial award gatherings on anniversary of the end of the war. He was a liberator of Holland and attended the last anniversary trip in May of 2015. William has been a member of the Enfield Branch 133 for fifteen years. Submitted by Family. STEVENS, Alfred K. “Alie” WWII Alie was born and raised in Kentville, NS. He served from 1940 to 1946 with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was a member of Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion for thirty-six years at the time of his death in 2005. Submitted by Kings Branch #006, The Royal Canadian Legion STEWART, Rae Alden WWI Rae enlisted in the First Reinforcement Company on February 12, 1915. Early in June he was sent overseas where he was wounded four times, each time returning to the front lines. Rae was commissioned in April 1918 and returned home on April 19, 1919.
