He declared that he was a lumber man, single, and that his father, Samuel Corkum of Barrs Corner, was his next of kin. WWII James was born in England. He served the British Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force in the Far East under Lord Mountbatten. He was discharged with the rank of Warrant Officer. James was a member of Chatham, NB Branch #003, The Royal Canadian Legion before he passed away in 1991. He enlisted in the 10th Siege Bty of the CGA on 24 September, 1917, in Lower LaHave. He declared that he was a clerk/telegrapher by trade and that his father, Capt.
