He was a lumberman by trade and declared, upon enlistment, that his next of kin was his father John Dorey of Walden. Parker enlisted in the 112th Bn on 28 December, 1915, in Middleton. His brother Willis had enlisted in the same battalion 12 days earlier. Parker served at the front with the 25th Bn and suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm during the Battle of Vimy Ridge and to his right hand during the Battle of Amiens. He was discharged in March 1919. Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion DOREY, Roy WWI Roy enlisted in the 112th Bn on 18 December, 1915, in Mahone Bay. He declared that he had been born in Clearland on 6 November, 1892, and that his next of kin was his father Benjamin Dorey of Mahone Bay. He was posted to the 10th Fortress Company of the Royal Canadian Engineers in Halifax and discharged as ‘unfit’ in December 1916. Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion DOREY, Willis Russell WWI Willis enlisted in the 112th Bn on 16 December, 1915, in Middleton. He stated that he had been born in Walden on 22 November 1893; that his next of kin was his father, John Dorey, of Walden; and that his trade was a lumberman. He served at the front with the 18th Company of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. Willis was awarded the Military Medal for ‘bravery in the field’ during the Battle of Passchendaele. He served as a corporal in the Veterans Guard of Canada during WW II and died on 31 March 1975 Submitted by Zone 13, The Royal Canadian Legion
