Editor’s note: Close to 175,000 Canadians took part in the campaign to liberate the Netherlands during the latter stages of WWII, which began in the fall of 1944 and ended in the spring of 1945. In our 2020 edition, a list of war dead, buried in various Dutch cemeteries, was printed in honour of the 75th Anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. The following is a continuation of the list of Nova Scotians who participated in the liberation and paid the supreme sacrifice. I would like to acknowledge and thank Comrade Gary Siliker, CD, Mahone Bay Br #49, for his dedication in the research and remembrance of these Canadian heroes. These war dead have been collated based upon the CAF precedence of units. Each entry is: name, rank, date of death, family information and classification of death (additional details are provided in many cases). KIA - killed in action DOW - died of wounds DOA - died of accident DOI - died of illness
