Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 197 KELLY, William Christopher “Bill” PEACETIME Bill was born in St. John’s, NL in 1948. He joined the Royal Newfoundland Regiment (R NFLD R) “C” Company, a Primary Reserve Infantry Regiment of the Canadian Army in 1966. He completed his basic training at Bell Island Battery, NL and his Electrical Technician trade training also at Bell Island Battery. Bill completed two years of service in Bell Island and St. John’s, NL and was released in 1968 as Private. Bill has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 53 years currently at Hants Co. Branch 9. He has received the 50-Year Service Medal. He resides in Garlands Crossing, NS with his wife, Selina. Submitted by Hants Co. Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion KINNEY, Allan Millard WWII Allan was born in Linwood, Antigonish County, NS in 1918. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 4th Field Regiment, Artillery Division, RCA in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany during World War II. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. Allan was a Lifetime Member Command – 08 Branch 37 and was President of Mulgrave Branch until his death in May 2005. Submitted Independently KULIK, Nicholas WWII Nicholas was born in Poland in 1919. He served in the British 8th Army, 2nd Polish Corps in the Italian Campaign and, in particular, at Monte Cassino. During the campaign, he received a Medal of Valour which he is wearing in the photograph taken in Italy. Unfortunately, the medal was stolen years ago although the family still have the Ribbon Bar and his Monte Cassino Cross. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Fairview Branch 142 for around twenty years. Nicholas passed away in 1977. Submitted by Family
