Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 201 MacIVER, Lorway Dunbar “Mac” PEACETIME Mac was born in Sydney, NS on October 17, 1956. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1975 completing his Cadet Training Program at RCMP Academy in Regina, SK. Mac was posted to RCMP Detachment Ottawa, ON; Colchester County, Stewiacke, NS; Inverness County, Inverness, NS; and Windsor (rural), Windsor, NS. He held positions in the Restorative Justice Policing Division and Human Trafficking Division all in Halifax, NS. On October 17, 2010, Mac retired as Corporal completing 35 years. He received the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Long Service Medal with Clasp and Queen’s Jubilee Medal. Mac has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 29 years, currently at Hants Co. Branch 9. He served as Member of the Executive and as Branch President. Submitted by Hants Co. Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion MacKENZIE, George William WWII George was born in Halifax, NS in 1925. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 4th Canadian Armd. Bdg. Coy RCASS in Scotland, Holland, France, Belgium and Germany during World War II. He received the France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Somme Branch 31. George passed away in 2002. Submitted by Family NICKERSON, Oran Eugene WWII Oran was born in Shag Harbour in 1922. He enlisted in the Army and served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in England and Northwest Europe during World War II. Oran passed away in 1998. Submitted Independently
