Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 207 TETRAULT, Anne-Marie Therese PEACETIME Anne-Marie was born in Lachine, Quebec on March 15, 1955. She joined the Royal Canadian Mounted police in 1989, completing her Cadet Training Program at RCMP Academy in Regina, SK. Anne-Marie was posted to Mississauga, Toronto, Cornwall andWindsor, RCMP Detachments in Ontario. She held positions in the Drug Investigation Division, Criminal Intelligence Section and as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst. She was NCO I/C Windsor C. I. Section as well as worked with Peel Regional and City of Windsor Police Services. She qualified as marksman on pistol and rifle. On April 25, 2014, Anne-Marie retired as Corporal completing 25 years. She received the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Long Service Medal. Anne-Marie has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for eleven years currently at Hants Co. Branch 9. She served on the Executive, Public Relations and Snowball Standing Committees as well as working in the Legion kitchen. Submitted by Hants Co. Branch #009, The Royal Canadian Legion WALLACE, Frederick Borden “Fred” WWI Fred was born on December 21, 1889, in Newport Landing, NB, to William Bennett Wallace. He had five children, William, Hazel, Reginald, Kathleen, and Robert. Prior to World War I, he was married (Elizabeth Lindsay) and employed with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He enlisted on November 26, 1915 in Truro, Nova Scotia with the 106th Battalion (Nova Scotia Rifles). Fred, along with his unit, was put through very extensive training. His unit sailed from Halifax on July 15, 1916 aboard the Empress of Britain to England. He was transferred to the 26th Reserve Battalion for more training, hospitalized in Aldershot on May 21, 1917, diagnosed with Parotiditis, and discharged nineteen days later. He was on the battlefield when he received a gunshot wound to the chest on August 14, 1918 and was listed as seriously ill. Five days later, his condition was dangerously ill and a letter was sent to his father. After five months in hospital care, Fred was classified as medically unfit for additional Military Service, invalidated to Canada on February 2, 1919. Having served three years and three months, Fred was discharged on March 26, 1919 in Halifax, NS. Fred died in the Colchester Hospital in Truro, NS on June 13, 1967. Submitted by Branch 532, The Royal Canadian Legion WILSON, James George PEACETIME James was born in Portage la Prairie, MB on January 26, 1964. He joined the West Nova Scotia Regiment (WNSR) “D” Company Middleton, NS, an Army Reserve Infantry Unit in January 1981. In 1983, he enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air Force completing basic training at CFB Cornwallis, NS. He completed his trade training as anAircraft Structures Technician (ACS Tech) at Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering at CFB Borden. He completed an Advance Composite Repair Course and a Helicopter Rotor Repair Course. James was posted to CFB Borden and CFB Cold Lake. In July 1990, he retired as Corporal completing nine years and six months. James has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for two years at Hants Co. Branch 9. He resides in Windsor, NS.
